The Streets in Between Parades

Saturday afternoon, February 9th -
       St. Charles Avenue post-parade.

A tunnel of tree and paper streamer.

Can you see the Mardi Gras beads hanging in the tree to the left?

Helicopters fly over to help keep the peace.

This is usually where the streetcars run but the neutral grounds (medians) become prime parade-watching real estate so everybody marks their spot.

This side of St. Charles is where the parades run from Uptown toward the Central Business District (CBD).

The boxes on top of the ladders are where small children can sit and watch the parades and easily catch beads instead of sitting on their parents' shoulders. Usually, if they are painted on at all they have the owners' names on them but this one was different.
